CppNorth Transparency Report January, 2023

In December 2022 a public report laid out detailed allegations of a harassment incident at C++Now some years ago. During December 2022 and January 2023, the CppNorth Code of Conduct team, supplemented by the board, talked to the reporter of this incident as well as members of the C++Now Code of Conduct team and other Code of Conduct teams, who confirmed the person was banned from C++Now and provided information about the reported incident and a 2022 incident with the same person, referred to in the C++Now transparency report, 2022-11-03 meeting. Based on these two incidents, we have concluded this person should not speak at or attend CppNorth. Should a talk be submitted, it will not be eligible to be accepted.

In addition, we have updated our Code of Conduct, to make clear that we may share information with other Code of Conduct teams on safety issues and to clarify that actions outside the conference context may restrict a person’s ability to participate in the conference.
